Like so many people out there, I've decided to show my appreciation for Tori Amos by creating my own little web site dedicated to her music. As this site came together, the question I had to ask myself was: "What can I do to make my website different from so many other Tori fan sites?"
The answer came in the form of this site's name. Starting with Little Earthquakes, Tori's catalogue spans seven albums and scores of b-sides over a twelve-year period. While many sites focus in on Tori's work as a whole, I decided to focus on the songs that I think are quintessential: the songs that best embody her style of music, imagery, and overall philosophy. The songs that I think are (dare I say it) mandatory listening for any Tori Amos fan. (Check out the FAQ page in my Contact section to learn more about this.)
Use the ever-present navigation bar over on the left to visit each section and see for yourself which songs I feel make this list. Whether you're just discovering Tori for the first time, or a long-time fan, my hope is that you'll find my list informative and entertaining. If you disagree with any of my choices (as I'm sure some of you will) then don't worry: you can fill out my survey form in the Contact section and tell me where I went wrong. All responses will eventually be posted to this site.
As a final note, I just want to thank three very important people: Firstly, to Michael Zavarello, who motivated me to make this site in the first place; secondly to Sean Hale for gracious use of his idea for this site's title; and lastly, but certainly not least, to Tori Amos for all these years of beautiful muisc.
Enjoy!
Craig
